My first trek in South-India
(12-13 July, 2008)

Ok, this is how the I got to go on this trip : I had been for one week in this software company, Citrix, hadn't got much work and all ... Nagareshwar approached me and said he had a seat for a trip for the weekends ... so then ... I had been so bored of Bangaluru and everything that I couldn't say no ... so in the evening at around 6 pm I went to my home in company's cab -- took 10-15 minutes to pack my bags -- and came back by the same cab. The dinner was with the other 9 guys from the same company. We took off some time after 11pm.

Day 1 : Kemmangundi and Hebbe falls

Well -- a very windy and a very nice place : as you can see in the first photo - the small path -- feels like a trek and all, right ...  not  a very long path also, about one hour one way-- so basically you enjoy the wind the whole way and enjoy trekking too ...
There was one fear too -- that of leeches -- they bite you (and you don't get to know coz they are small and as soon as they bite they inject some anaesthetic into you), and suck you blood until they get too fat and all and are unable to move -- we didn't get them stuck till lunch - so naresh went and made one stick to his foot ...
and then he removed it too ...
Next we go to Hebbe falls -- we had to take a jeep coz we didn't have much time to trek all the way there - the jeek took all 10 of us in a thousand bucks -- about half an hour journey one-way ... the way was too jerky and we were all packed inside ... :)
We took bath in the water as close to the waterfall as we could (sorry, no pics of that time were taken :( )

Day 2 : Mullayanagiri and Chennakeshava Temple in Belur
Mullayanagiri is the highest peak in Karnataka (about 1930 mts -- source : Wikipedia). Was nice -- really windy
There was some stupid cave near by (see the photos in the link given at the end of this post ... )
Chennakeshava Temple in Belur : Pics will say for themselves
For all the pics, go here.
